Bay trips
Inshore fishing in the bays and sounds around Pensacola Beach, Navarre, and Perdido Key. Calm water, plenty of structure, and fish that fight.
What we fish for
Bay trips put you on the kind of fish that make inshore fishing famous on the Gulf Coast. We target redfish (red drum), speckled trout, and flounder, plus other species depending on the season. We work grass flats, oyster bars, docks, and shorelines—wherever the fish are holding.
- Redfish – tailing in the grass or stacked on structure. Great on light tackle.
- Speckled trout – over grass and around bait. Topwater early, live or artificial later.
- Flounder – along the bottom near structure and passes.
Where we go
We run out of the Pensacola Beach–Perdido Key area and fish Pensacola Bay, Santa Rosa Sound, Perdido Bay, and the backwaters in between. Short runs mean more time with lines in the water. Half-day bay trips work well for families and anyone who wants a solid inshore experience without a long run.
Tackle & techniques
We use light to medium tackle suited to inshore fishing. Live bait and artificials both have their place; Capt. John will set you up for what's working that day. No experience needed—we'll show you the basics and get you on fish.
